Jama Masjid is the largest mosque located in the Capital of India . The Jama Masjid was constructed during the rule of Shah Jahan by 5000 workers over a period of six years. It is built out of sandstone and white marble. Initially Jama Masjid means World Reflecting Mosque in Persian.

Jama Masjid is Situated in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. It can easily accommodate about 25,000 worshippers at a time. The Jama Masjid also holds immense architectural significance in India and is a major attraction in Delhi. Red fort located on the east of Jama Masjid.

One has to go to the imposing gateways of this beautifully glorified mosque along it's wide stairs. The main eastern gate was strictly used for the entry of the Royal family.The main prayer hall is situated on the western part of this masjid.

It is fully decorated with many elevated arches with cusps. The hall is used by the devotees on almost all the days except on Fridays and Muslim holidays.

Entry Fee : Free for entrance, but it is one of the most expensive places for photography. The authority of this Masjid charge you Rs.200 for Photography.

How to reach at Jama Masjid : The nearest metro station is Chandni Chowk and Masjid is 5 minuites walkin distance.
