Independence Day is the bigest event in India, which is  observed annually on 15 August. India Celebrates as the National Holiday on 15 August as we all know that in this day India free from Kingdom of Great Britain. On 15 August 1947 the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru had raised the Indian national flag above the Lahore Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi, Science then every year on 15 August the Prime Minister of India raises the national flag and gives speech from Lal Quila.

Celebrations on 15 August : Kite flying is celebrated in northern and central cities of India. People of India decorate their cloths, cars, household by Indian tri-color national flag to symbolise their patriotism towards the country. The Indians in various parts of the world also celebrate the Independence Day with parades and pageants. Several cities in the United States have declared as 'India Day' on 15 August. On 15th August the national holiday is observed throughout India with flag hoisting, grand celebrations and participate in many cultural events. Indians celebrate this day by displaying the national flag every where by sing patriotic songs. All schools, colleges, universities and government organizations hoist the national flag on 15 August.
