About Baisakhi : It is one of the most awaited festivals among the Sikhs, Baisakhi is celebrated with immense enthusiasm and devotion in all corners of India, but it is most popular festival in north India. When is Baisakhi, is celebrated on the first day of the Month of Baisakh, which usually falls between the month March and April every year. The Baisakhi Festival is celebrated on account of birth of the Khalsa Panth and it is the beginning of living a new way of life.

Baisakhi is the most popular festival in Delhi during which young and old devotees celebrate this auspicious occasion making it one of the most enjoyable and iteresting festival in the region. Baisakhi often called the Harvest Festival of India, thats why it is an important day for farmers as on this day they can enjoy the fruits of the seeds they had scattered long time ago. Their efforts and hard work has converted to fruits and it is time for their happyness and enjoyment. Feasting, dancing and making joyful exuberant activities are important aspects of the Baisakhi celebrations.

On this festival Sikhs devotees visit the Gurudwaras,  Hindus on this auspicious day visit temples. As Baisakhi coincided with Bengali New Year. The day is very significant for the Sikhs because the Sikhs were given a code of conduct to live their lives accordingly.

Special prayers are organized on the day of the Baisakhi Festival. After the completion of the rituals at the Gurudwara, the devotees receive specially made Kara Prasad and sweetened semolina. Community lunch is an integral part of the celebration.
